Aster Solutions LLC, founded by Alan Ramos. It is a small team and an early one, which is why the first device is funding publicly rather than quietly.

Because it is the smallest honest version of the whole idea. Aster 0001 senses something real, decides what matters, and reports it somewhere useful. Everything after it, and the app that ties it together, works the same way at a larger scale.

A climate node: it measures temperature and humidity where you put it, shows them on a large e-paper display, and sends the readings to your phone. It is the first device in the Aster ecosystem.

Anywhere the conditions matter and nobody is watching them. A nursery, a server closet, a cellar, a greenhouse, a workshop, a room that never quite warms up. It runs for weeks on a charge, so it does not need to live near an outlet.

Temperature to ±0.1 °C and relative humidity to ±1 %RH, sampled every 60 seconds.

You can read it across the room, in any light, without a glowing screen in the corner of your eye. Holding an image costs no power at all, which is most of the reason a battery lasts weeks. The display is 800 × 480, black and white, and refreshes without the full-screen flash you may have seen on e-readers.

Four to six weeks on a charge, from a 2500 mAh cell. It charges over USB-C.

Only to sync. Aster is fully functional offline: it keeps measuring and keeps showing readings with no network at all, then catches up when Wi-Fi returns. It connects over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.

Aster 0001 is designed for indoor and sheltered spaces. It is not weather sealed.

The two finishes. Ink is black, Paper is white. The body is the same either way, chamfered and monochrome with a single copper accent, hand assembled and individually numbered.

No. The device shows its readings on its own display and keeps working with no app and no account. The app adds history, multiple devices in one place, and alerts when something crosses a line you set.

It opens alongside the campaign, on iOS and Android.

Yes, over the air, and every update is signed. Each device also has its own TLS credentials, so one device is never a way into another.
