Privacy Policy
Aster Solutions LLC ("Aster", "we", "us") builds connected devices and the software around them. This page explains what we collect through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
We keep this short on purpose. If something here is unclear, write to us and we will answer plainly.
What we collect
The backer list. If you give us your address on the Connect page, we store:
- the email address you typed
- the date and time you submitted it
- which page it came from
- a truncated, one-way hash of your IP address
- the first 200 characters of your browser's user agent string
The IP hash and user agent exist to stop automated signups and to let us find abuse after the fact. The hash cannot be reversed back into your IP address.
Site analytics. We count visits so we know whether anyone is reading this. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records the page viewed, the referring site, and coarse details like country, browser, and device type, plus the milestones you reach on a page, such as how far into the product tour you got.
Visitors are counted using a hash the server derives from the request, not a cookie or an ID we plant on you. That hash resets every day, so you cannot be recognised tomorrow or on any other website. The result is a count, not a profile: we cannot tie any of it back to you, and we cannot reconstruct your browsing session.
Nothing else. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not record your screen or your clicks, and we do not sell, rent, or share your address with anyone for their own marketing.
Why we collect it
- To send you launch dates, unit numbers, and build updates, which is what you signed up for.
- To answer you when you write to us about support or investment.
- To keep bots off the list and the service running.
- To see which parts of the site people actually read, so we can improve them.
Who can see it
Your address is stored in Amazon DynamoDB, in the AWS US East region. The site itself is hosted on Vercel, which processes ordinary request logs and the analytics described above on our behalf.
Signup forms may be protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, an anti-bot check. When it runs, Cloudflare receives the information it needs to decide whether the request is automated.
These providers process data for us and under our instructions. We do not otherwise disclose your information, except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep list addresses until you ask us to remove yours. Anti-abuse records expire automatically after one hour. Analytics are aggregated counts, and the daily visitor hash behind them is discarded after 24 hours.
Your choices
Every message we send includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also write to us at any time and ask what we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it. We will act on deletion requests within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data, including under the GDPR or the CCPA. We apply the same process to everyone who asks.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Cookies
We do not set advertising or analytics cookies, and our analytics do not use cookies at all. Cloudflare Turnstile may set a cookie strictly to run its anti-bot check.
Because nothing non-essential is stored on your device, this site does not ask you to accept cookies. If that ever changes, you will be asked first.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date below. Substantive changes will be announced to the list.
